Halloween Happenings in Brevard County

Brevard County offers lots of great Halloween-themed events throughout the month of October, so if you are looking to celebrate the season with a little bit of scary (or not so scary!) fun, check out the list below!

Melbourne Oktoberfest – In its 35th year, the Melbourne Oktoberfest will run from October 13 – 16. This event is located at Wickham Park and features live entertainment, German food, beverages, rides and more. Fun for the entire family!

Scarecrow Stroll and Harvest Festival – Free community event at Viera Hospital Courtyard on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. The festival will feature a scarecrow stroll and silent auction, entertainment by Bluegrass Band, bounce houses, food vendors, hay rides, pie baking contest, kid’s tattoos and much more.

Bow Wow WOW Pet Parade – Bring your pet in its Halloween costume to West Melbourne Community Park at 3000 Minton Road in West Melbourne on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10:00 am – 12 noon. The pet costume parade will start promptly at 11:05 am. There is no fee to participate, but registration is required. To register your pet (all types allowed, leashes are required), call (321) 837-7779. This is a family event and will feature prizes, music, and local pet-friendly businesses with free information and advice on pet safety, nutrition, and care for our pets.

Witch Way 5K Walk/Run – This is a nighttime 3.1 mile run/walk starting and ending at Nance Park in Indialantic. The run will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, starting at 6:30 pm. The after party will be held at Long Dogger’s in Indialantic, with trick-or-treating and an obstacle course for the kids. Race goodies include a glow-in-the-dark race t-shirt! Fall Festival at Holy Name of Jesus Church – This event will be held in Indialantic from Thursday, Oct. 20 – Sunday, Oct. 23. There will be something for everyone! Rides, crafts, food, music, haunted house, drawings, golf ball drop, BBQ cookoff, and much more. Visit the website for more information: HNJ Fall Festival

Halloween Howl at the Satellite Beach Dog Park – Another fun event for costumed doggies and their owners! The event will be held at the Satellite Beach Dog Park on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 10:00 am. The cost is $3.50 per dog, paid on the day of the event.

Craft Fair Spooktacular at Viera Regional Community Center – This event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. The cost is $2 per child, and accompanying parents can attend for free. There will be a costume contest at 11:00 am, and vendors will be handing out candy. The event will also feature take home crafts for the kids, games, bounce houses, face painting, cotton candy, and more.

Mall-O-Ween at Melbourne Square Mall – The Melbourne Square Mall invites costumed kids to trick-or-treat throughout the mall on Monday, Oct. 31 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Crafts and other fun activities will be held at Center Court, a professional photographer will be available, and Radio Disney will be offering fun games and prizes. Free goodie bags for the kids, while supplies last.

Brevard Zoo, Boo at the Zoo – This event is for the whole family, and runs from Oct. 14 – 16, 21 – 23, 29 and 30 at the Brevard Zoo on Wickham Road in Melbourne. It is a nighttime event, from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm, with the last admission at 8:00 pm. Boo at the Zoo includes a haunted trail, entertainment, a play area, train rides, a costume contest, witch’s lair, and trick-or-treating around the zoo. You are encouraged to wear your Halloween costume. Admission is $8 per person on Oct. 14 – 16, then $10 per person for the remaining dates. Children younger than 2 years old are allowed into the event for free.

Rossetter House Ghost Tour – Ghost tours are offered every Friday night at 7:00 pm at this historic house and adjoining cemetery on Highland Ave in Melbourne (Eau Gallie Historic District). The cost is $10 per person, and the tour lasts about an hour. Reservations are required, call (321) 254-9855. Visit the website for more information: Historic Rossetter House

Haunted Lair, at Super Flea and Farmer’s Market – This is a 3,000 sq. ft. haunted house-like maze of scary fun and screaming monsters. The Haunted Lair is open from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through October 30. Admission is $6, but if you bring two cans of nonperishable food, you receive $1 off admission price. The Haunted Lair is located at 4835 W. Eau Gallie Blvd in Melbourne. Call 321-242-9124, ext. 4 for more details.

Haunted Boat Rides, at Camp Holly – Haunted air boat rides for the whole family, from 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm on Oct. 21 – 23 and Oct. 28 – 31. The cost is $8, but free for children 6 and younger when accompanied by a parent. Food and drinks will be available, and there is also a Children’s Zone with treats.
