Thankful For Another Day in Paradise

Posted on: November 24, 2011

The beautiful view of the Indian River Lagoon from the Melbourne Beach Pier . . . shared through the generosity of my great friend, Cindy Walker!

If someone offered you the chance to live in a small beach town on an island in Florida with gorgeous weather, friendly people, excellent schools, some of the best surfing on the East coast, excellent fishing, great companies to work for and so much more what would you say?  Thank you so much Mom and Dad for saying YES and moving to Indialantic so I could grow up in this incredible place.  I never wanted to leave, but first there was college and then a career that took me to South Florida but always a huge desire to come back to this place – this paradise.

Sometimes when I walk to the beach or the river, see the kids skateboarding, biking and walking to elementary school or realize I know almost everyone at the grocery store I still have to pinch myself.  Can I really be lucky enough to live here?

So on this night when I sit and think about what I am thankful for I know that I am truly blessed.  I work in a profession I absolutely love.  As a little girl I used to ride my bike through the neighborhood wanting to see the inside of every house and meet every person who lived there.  Real estate has been my passion before I even knew what that meant!  I am so thankful to have not only survived but to have prospered in a very difficult market.

Which brings me straight to the next thing I am so thankful for – the amazing people who have trusted me to help them buy or sell a home.  I am so lucky to have met each and every one of you, to have learned about your lives and to have my life enhanced by our friendship.

Thank you to all my fellow Realtors who have taught me so much.  I have truly enjoyed the ride we have had together and how we can lean on each other when times are tough and celebrate together when times are good.  And to those super special Realtor friends who have helped and supported me so much, you know who you are and I love each and every one of you!

I also am so humbled by those true and dear friends who have been with me through all of lifes up and downs – my soul sisters.  Leanne, Zoe, Donna – I love you guys!

And last, but not least, I am humbled by the blessing of my two beautiful children who are truly my life and an incredible husband who understands me and appreciates me.  There are no words for that.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
