Dog Beach Indian Harbour Beach, FL

Dog Beach will open at Canova Park on February 25th!

Carolyn Smith, Realtor – The long-awaiting and much-anticipated Dog Beach will be opening soon! Brevard County’s first Dog Beach is set to open on Saturday, February 25th in Indian Harbour Beach, FL!

Brevard County’s Dog Beach is located in Indian Harbour Beach, at Canova Beach Park. Canova Beach Park is located at 3299 A1A in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. The boundaries of Dog Beach will be Eau Gallie Boulevard as the north end of the beach, and the property line of the Radisson Suite Oceanfront Hotel as the south boundary line. There will be signs on the beach indicating the boundaries.

In order to utilize Dog Beach, all dogs must be on a leash and they must wear tags showing their current license and vaccinations. There is no cost to use Dog Beach, however owners must pick up after their pets. Waste bags and proper receptacles will be available on the beach.

Dog Beach is being implemented as a one-year pilot program, so dog owners are encouraged to follow the rules of the park by cleaning up after thier dog, keeping their dog on its leash, and staying within the boundaries of Dog Beach. Overall, just try to be a cautious and responsible dog owner. Dog Beach needs to stay safe and clean so dogs and their owners can use it and enjoy it, hopefully for many more years to come!

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 am on Saturday, February 25th to celebrate the opening of Brevard County’s first Dog Beach.

Yes, it is great that Brevard County created a “dog beach”, where dogs and their owners can have their own special place on the beach where they can play and frolic without bothering any “non dog” beach goers. Everyone wins! πŸ™‚

I wish my dog liked water. I love watching the dogs swimming in the ocean πŸ™‚

Funny how some dogs absolutely love the water, and others won’t go near it! I’m with you, I love watching dogs swim in the ocean, jump over waves, bite the waves, doggy paddle around… just adorable! Glad we have dog beach here in Brevard County so our water-loving (or just beach-loving) 4-legged friends get the chance frolic in the Atlantic!
