Gorgeous produce at the Downtown Melbourne Farmers Market!

Farmers markets have been gaining in popularity over the past several years, and lucky for us in Brevard County, Florida, we have lots of great farmers markets available throughout the week, all around the county. If you have never been to a farmers market, the concept is that local farmers and growers bring products from their farm to sell directly to the public, providing the opportunity for consumers to buy fresh, locally grown products.

Farmers markets are great if you are looking for fun “Things to do in Brevard County, FL”, because many markets have live music, food samples, and the chance to talk with local farmers… the whole family will have a good time!

To help you find some fresh, locally grown produce, I’ve put together a list of Brevard County farmers markets in the southern part of Brevard County, FL, organized by day:

Monday:

None at this time

Tuesday: 

The Green Marketplace in Cocoa: Every Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and every Saturday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at 4880 Coconut Ave in Cocoa. This is a mini farmers market featuring Florida native plants, edible plants, locally and sustainably grown produce, natural gardening products, fresh eggs and value added farm goods… they only sell what they grow! Wednesday:

Cocoa Village Farmers Market: Every Wednesday (weather permitting) from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm in Cocoa Village at Myrt Tharpe Square (Brevard Ave and Stone Street). Market offers fresh fruits and vegetables all from local area farms, plus crafts, flowers, baked goods, and more.

Green Market at The Avenue Viera: Every Wednesday from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm in Viera at Central Park at The Avenue outdoor shopping center. Market features fresh, locally grown, sustainable food and products from a variety of vendors including fresh vegetables, fruits, spices, mustards, spreads and more.

Thursday:

Brevard County Farmers Market: Every Thursday from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm in Melbourne at the Wickham Park Main Pavillion (next to BCC parking lot). This is a great farmers market – all of the vendors are screened before being accepted to ensure that products sold are grown or produced in Florida. Voted “Best Grower-Only Farmers Market in Central Florida” by Edible Orlando.

Friday:

The Farmers Market in Satellite Beach: *Closed for the summer but will reopen starting Sept. 21st* Every Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm in Satellite Beach at 1260 S. Patrick Drive next to the Lori Lane Plaza.

The Green Marketplace in Cocoa: Every Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and every Saturday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at 4880 Coconut Ave in Cocoa. Saturday:

Downtown Melbourne Farmers Market: Every Saturday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm in Downtown Melbourne at the corner of 192 and US 1. Market offers lots of fresh produce, baked goods, prepared foods, homemade soaps, crafts and more.

Eau Gallie Farmers Market: Every Saturday from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm in Melbourne at Eau Gallie Square at the corner of Eau Gallie Blvd and Highland Ave. Market offers farm fresh produce, honey, jams and jellies, baked goods, art, all natural body care items, and more.

The Green Marketplace in Cocoa: Every Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and every Saturday from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at 4880 Coconut Ave in Cocoa. Palm Bay Farmers Market and Flea Market: Held on the 2nd Saturday of every month (September – May) from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm in Palm Bay at the Palm Bay Community Center. Market features fresh fruits and vegetables, garden centers, food vendors, craft vendors, and garage/flea market types of items.

Sunday:

Cocoa Beach Sunday Farmers Market: Every Sunday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm in Cocoa Beach at Cocoa Beach City Hall, 2. South Orlando Ave (A1A Southbound). Market offers fresh Florida produce, honey, jams and jellies, baked goods, handmade soaps, and more.
