Carolyn Smith, Realtor – Dog Friendly Brevard County, FL: Dog Parks in Brevard County, Florida

Whew! It’s exhausting playing at the awesome dog parks in Brevard County, Florida!

I am an animal lover, and although my family does not currently have a dog, I have many clients, friends, and family members with dogs. So I know how much dog owners love to bring their dogs everywhere with them, whenever possible. I get tons of questions everyday about dog friendly restaurants in Brevard County, dog friendly beaches in Brevard County, and dog friendly parks in Brevard County. Since I have already covered dog friendly restaurants here, and dog friendly beaches here, I am going move onto dog parks in Brevard County, Florida. Brevard County actually has a lot of dog parks, spread from the north end of the county to the south end of the county. Hopefully there is a park that is convenient for you and your dog!

Please note that other than the parks listed below, dogs (except service animals) are not permitted in Brevard County parks.

Here is a list of Brevard County Dog Parks:

Canova Beach Park, Dog Beach (on-leash): 700 foot stretch of beach at Hwy A1A and Eau Gallie Boulevard in Indian Harbour Beach. Boundaries for the Dog Beach area are Eau Gallie Boulevard to the north and the property line of the Radisson Suite Oceanfront Hotel to the south. Brevard County has posted signs to indicate boundaries. Dogs must stay on their leash at all times.

Fay Lake Wilderness Park (off-leash): 6300 Fay Boulevard, Port St. John. Open from 7:00 am until dusk, this is a 5 acre fenced, off-leash dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs. The dog park has shade, drinking water, and benches.

Lori Wilson Park (off-leash/admission fee): 1500 N Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach. Open from 7:00 am until dusk, this is a 32,000 square foot fenced, off-leash dog park with separate large dog and small dog areas. There are areas for shade, benches and chairs, a hose for fresh water, and some kiddie pools for the dogs.

Marina Park (off-leash): 501 Marina Road, Titusville. Open from 7:00 am until dusk, this is over an acre of fenced, off-leash dog park with large dog and small dog areas.

Palm Bay Regional Park (off-leash): 1951 Malabar Road NW, Palm Bay. Open from 7:00 am until dusk, this is a 40,000 square foot fenced, off-leash dog park with separate large and small dog zones.

Satellite Beach Sports & Rec Park (off-leash/admission fee): 750 Jamaica Boulevard, Satellite Beach. Phone: 321-777-8004. Open from dawn to dusk, this 1.5 acre dog park has shaded areas, benches, dog toys, drinking water, and plastic swimming pools for dogs to cool off in the summer.

Sand Point Park (on-leash): 101 North Washinton Ave, Titusville. Open from 7:00 am until dusk, this is a 30-acre community park on the Indian River. Sand Point Park does not have an actual dog park, but dogs are permitted throughout the park if they are on a short leash.

Wickham Park (off-leash): 2500 Parkway Drive, Melbourne. Open from 7:00 am until dusk, this is a large fenced, off-leash dog park with large and small dog zones. Dogs are allowed in Wickham Park as long as they are on a short leash, and they are prohibited around lakes, picnic areas, and playgrounds.

Please be a responsible dog owner. Remember, admission to all dog parks requires a record of current vaccinations. All dogs must wear a current Brevard County license tag. Visitors from outside Brevard County must have the equivalent license tag from the governing authority of their place of residence (city, county, state), along with current license/tag and shot record.

Please remember to leave aggressive dogs at home, keep your dog under control at all times, and pick up after your dog. If your dog is having a grouchy day (it’s okay, we all do sometimes), then bring your dog home, no need to force the dog park if your dog isn’t loving it.

I truly hope you and your dog enjoy Brevard County’s awesome dog parks!
